Quality of the anchorage in a scale of 1 to 5 little anchors:

Welcome Medyachter,

This e-book and book has been written for all those yachtsmen and women, who spend time on the Côte d’Azur (western Med) in a sail- or motorboat, whether a rental or as owner / captain.
We tested the most suitable places to spend the day and/or the night at sea safely anchored. Many places you probably know and some you may have never seen.

The web/book gives you clear instructions how to get to a bay, cove or creek, information on the quality of the anchorage, the wind and swell protection and its amenities such as beach, restaurants and visits.
We hope this will be a useful guide to assist you when you choose to spend your weekends and holidays on the water.

You can purchase the E-book of this site to keep in your computer when you are not on-line. For only 9 Euro. its a give away.

The site gives just some examples of what the book contains.

Some explanations on the information:

Position (gps):
For each bay we provide the gps coordinates of the most suitable anchorage. Since some bays are quite large and provide different anchorages the gps coordinates are an average point. A click on the small sat picture or the gps coordinates opens the view in Google maps for close examination and roaming around.
On the top right we have supplied the Shom and Navicarte sea map reference numbers corresponding to the area of the anchorages.

Wind protection:
At each anchorage we provide a quick view indication on wind protection. Winds in red mean no protection from that direction and for the winds in green you are nicely protected.

Quality symbols:
Anchorings are given a quality symbol of little yellow anchors on a scale of 1 to 5. What we considered to be important, were anchor holding, stillness of the sea, protection from wind, beauty, clear water, noise and amenities.

We would appreciate your comments and additions to anchorages and descriptions of other anchorages of your choice. For this you can use the contact form.
